Richmond Hound · Field Notes

Our Craft

Richmond Hound pairs a British-local point of view with restrained, softer luxury cues: supple full-grain bovine leather, a soft dog-contact lining, rounded edges, quiet debossing and warm satin-brass hardware.

Materials and construction

  • Full-grain bovine leather with no rough flesh exposed at the dog-contact surface.
  • Rounded, sanded, coloured, burnished and sealed edges.
  • Roller or prong buckles proportioned to each collar width.
  • Secure D-rings and a satin-brass swivel snap with smooth spring and swivel action.
  • Bonded polyester stitching with reinforcement at load-bearing points.
  • A 1.2 metre lead with a folded handle and optional accessory D-ring.

Controlled tolerances

Width ±0.5 mm; overall collar length ±3 mm; hole spacing ±1 mm; centre-hole circumference ±2 mm; leather thickness ±0.2 mm; D-ring and logo position ±2 mm; lead length ±10 mm. Hardware colour is matched to an approved physical master sample.

Five-stage quality control

  1. Incoming materials
  2. Cutting and preparation measurements
  3. In-process assembly and second-person personalisation verification
  4. Finished-product inspection
  5. Pre-shipment release with reconciliation, reports, photographs and defect records

Production follows the current technical pack and signed golden sample. Safety or load claims will only appear after the relevant testing and review.
